Logging a feed
Bottle or breast, an amount if you are counting, and the time already filled in. Two taps for most feeds.
Tap Log feed, pick Bottle or Breast, and save. The time fills in as now, so most feeds are two taps and done.
The amount is optional
If you are counting ounces or millilitres, tap one of the shortcut amounts or type a number. If you are not counting — most breastfeeding, and plenty of bottles — leave it blank. baybay does not mind, and the charts simply skip what is not there.
Amounts are in millilitres. There is no ounces setting at the moment, so if you measure in ounces you would be converting each time — roughly 30 ml to the fluid ounce.
Worth knowing before you commit, and it is the single most requested change. If it matters to you, say so — that is how it gets prioritised.
Setting your own shortcut amounts
The row of one-tap amounts under the number is yours to set. In Settings under Bottle amounts you can put in up to six shortcuts and the amount the field opens at.
It is worth doing once, around the time the defaults stop matching what you pour. Shortcuts of 30 and 60 are no use at all once a baby is taking 210, and picking the sizes you actually use is the difference between two taps and typing a number every time.
Logging a feed that already happened
Change the time before you save, or add it later. Logging something afterwards.
Fixing one you got wrong
Every entry in the list on the log screen has a pencil to edit it and a cross to delete it. Tapping bottle when it was breast is a two-tap fix, and nothing is permanent.
What baybay does not track
Feeds are bottle or breast, with an amount and an optional note. There is no solids tracking, no pumping log, no nappies and no medication. That is a deliberate limit rather than a list of things coming later — it is the reason logging a feed takes two taps. What baybay tracks, in full.
