Getting your data out
Everything your household has logged is a single file, and you can download the whole of it whenever you like.
Settings → Export. Three formats, the whole record, whenever you want. Export is never behind a subscription and nothing is held back from it.
Which format
- SQLite — the actual file your household lives in. Not a rendering of your data, the record itself. Opens in any SQLite browser, and it is what you would move to another baybay.
- CSV — feeds and sleeps in one spreadsheet, with times already converted to your timezone. This is the one to pick for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or to send to a health visitor.
- JSON — for keeping your own backup, or moving the data into something else.
Everything you have logged is one file
That is the whole design. Your household is a single SQLite file, and the export hands it over intact — every feed, every sleep, every child, the settings and the schedule. There is no second copy somewhere with the interesting parts in it.
Nothing is held back and nothing is soft-deleted
Deleting a household unlinks the file. There is no hidden flag quietly keeping a copy, and export is not restricted on any plan — including after you cancel.
If you cancel, your data stays exportable for 30 days before it is deleted, so cancelling in a hurry never costs you the record.
We also take daily backups while you are subscribed, which is a different thing from your export and not a substitute for it. Taking your own copy occasionally is still worth the ten seconds.
Taking it somewhere else
baybay is open source, so "somewhere else" can be your own server running the same application. Export the SQLite file, drop it into a self-hosted install, and you are exactly where you left off. More about self-hosting.
