# Your address

> Your household has its own web address. Saving it is the one thing worth doing before anything else.

Your household has its own web address, something like **baybay.xyz/moss-lark-42**. Bookmark it, or add it to your home screen. It is the front door, and it does not change.

## Where to find it

It is in the address bar whenever you are using baybay, and it is printed at the top of **Settings** under **Your address** with a button to copy it. If we set your household up for you, it is also in the first email we sent.

## What to do with it

- **Add it to your home screen.** The most useful of the three, because it also makes baybay open full screen. [How to do that](https://baybay.baby/docs/home-screen.md).
- **Bookmark it** in whichever browser you actually use on your phone.
- **Send it to yourself** — a message or an email to yourself is a fine backup, and easier to search for later than a bookmark.

## Staying signed in

Once you are in, baybay keeps you signed in on that device for 90 days, and every visit starts the clock again. In practice, a phone you use daily stays signed in indefinitely.

Clearing your browser data signs you out, and so does using a different device for the first time. Neither loses anything — you just sign in again. [Getting back in](https://baybay.baby/docs/i-lost-the-link.md).

## Is the address secret?

> **Worth being clear about**
>
> Knowing the address is not the same as getting in. Anyone opening it without a session sees a sign-in screen asking for your household code or an emailed link, so a bookmark on a shared laptop is not an open door.
>
> Treat it as private anyway. There is no reason to post it anywhere, and the address is the one thing every way in has in common.
