# Adding your partner

> Share one short code and they can log feeds and sleeps too. No account to create, no invitation email to chase.

Last updated 18 August 2026

Send them your household address and your household code. They open the address, type the code once, and can log feeds and sleeps from their own phone. No account, no invitation email.

## How to do it

1. Open **Settings** and find **Household code**. It looks like **moss-lark-42**.
2. Tap the copy button, and send it to them with your baybay address.
3. They open the address on their phone and type the code into **Household code**.
4. They are in. Worth telling them to [add it to their home screen](https://baybay.baby/docs/home-screen.md) while they are there.

*Settings, under Your address. Send them this and the web address.*

## What they see

The same household as you, live. A feed one of you logs is on the other's screen the next time it loads, and the "time since last feed" both of you rely on is the same number — which is the entire point of sharing it rather than each keeping notes.

## How many people can join?

As many as you like. The same code works for a partner, a grandparent, a sitter and a night nurse, and none of them needs an account.

## What they cannot do

Change your settings, your children, your bottle amounts or the code itself, and they cannot delete the household. Those are yours. [Exactly what the code allows](https://baybay.baby/docs/what-the-code-lets-someone-do.md).

> **Catches people out**
>
> Somebody who joined with the code has **no email address on file**, so they cannot recover the address by themselves if they lose it. They come back to you for the code again.
>
> Only the person who set the household up can recover it by email. [Getting back in](https://baybay.baby/docs/i-lost-the-link.md).
